Mouth Cancer Walk 2015

The staff at Alexander House Dental Practice got in shape and did their annual fund raising 10Km walk at London`s Hyde Park on Saturday, 19 September 2015 for the Mouth Cancer Foundation.

A huge thank you to all the patients who contributed to this year`s 10Km Walk, done by the staff of Alexander House Dental Practice and we raised £290.50 for this worthwhile charity!!

Alexander House Mouth Cancer Awareness Team

This Mouth Cancer Foundation 10Km Walk is to :

  1. Raise awareness of mouth cancer and why regular dental checks are important
  2. Raise vital funds for this charity, which helps individuals who have suffered from this condition.

This 10Km walk is held every year in September and anyone can take part. We generally have a mix of dental teams, patients, their families, cancer survivors and many more.

Mouth Cancer Awareness Walk 2013

The Oldest and the YoungestThis year , it was the oldest and the youngest members of Alexander House Dental Practice that lead the charge. Patients of the practice once again gave generously towards this event.

We met in London’s Hyde Park on Sunday 29th September where the Mouth Cancer Foundation held its 8th annual Mouth Cancer 10 Km Awareness Walk, designed to raise much needed funds and awareness to combat all head and neck cancers.

Our teamAlmost 600 walkers turned out to 'step out and make a difference'. It was a pleasant day with a cool wind to keep the walkers cool. Despite a couple of blisters and a wobbly knee, the team finished in a respectable time.

We would like to say a heartfelt "Thank you" to all our patients who donated and supported the Alexander House Dental Practice team.

Together, we helped to raise £251 for this worthwhile charity.

First Aid Qualifications

Two members of our dental team recently completed a First Aid course, and are now trained and approved to give emergency first aid under the terms of the Health and Safely (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

The course consisted of a fun-filled half day, combining theory and practical exercises. Sunil and Pablika thoroughly enjoyed the course, and hope not to have to put their newly-aquired skills to the test for real! This consolidates their life-saving skills which are in addition to the annual CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) training that the entire dental team undergoes.

Six Month Smiles

Dr Chee Chen has just completed a new dental course on Six Month Smiles. She is very excited about being able to offer this new system to our patients.

Many adults spend their entire lives covering their mouths when they laugh, smile or talk. They feel stuck because they do not want to wear metal braces for years or they are concerned that other corrective procedures could be too invasive or too expensive.

Six Month Smile - before and after

Now, there is an effective, safe and affordable cosmetic solution that fits your lifestyle. A revolutionary combination of proven orthodontic techniques, modern materials, and innovative thought - Six Month Smiles® utilizes specialized clear braces to gently straighten and align teeth in an average time of just six months.
